  1. Long ago the people used to wear no shoe except when they were going to get married. Some people nowadays wear no shoes except to mass.
    The children go barefooted in Summertime. They wear shoes in the winter. The boots are made and repaired locally.
    There are three shoemakers in the district. The trade has passed down from father to son.
    There are more shoe-makers now than long ago as there are a lot more shoes wanted now.
    Clogs are worn always. It is not right to throw out the water at night that you would wash your feet with.
