  1. These are some of the ways we amuse ourselves. Making daisie chains, tops, dolls, bird-cradles, slings and making snare for catching rabbits.
    We gather a bunch of daisies and put one stem into another and sometimes we put one stem into another and sometimes we put different sorts of flowers along with the daisies.
    The boys make tops out of spools and use them as tops for spinning.
    We get a little stick and a small turnip and make holes in it for the mouth and eyes of the doll and stick the turnip to the stick. Then we dress them and use them for dolls.
    In the winter time when snow is on the ground the boys get rods and plat them to-gether and set them to catch birds.
    The get a fork-stick and a piece of leather and tie rubber to it and
