  1. Long ago there was a Parson living in Ardrinane. After he died two men came one night to steal a tree out of his wood. They had two saws to cut it. When they had it cut they were going to cross cut it. They were just going to cut it, when who should they see but the Parson sitting on the tree. "Look at the Parson" said one. "Come on and work away, we will leave him his seat." They cut on each side of him and carried it away. The men left the Parson sitting where he was.
