  1. A tailor was working one day when he was taken with a fit of coughing through swallowing a midge. His wife who took matters [?] and easy was late on this particular day with the dinner. She scolded him for being so foolish as to swallow a midge. He replied "Anything to bother the hunger". It is now a saying when a small meal is forthcoming "Anything to bother the hunger" like the tailor when he swallowed the midge.
