  1. A married couple has the cure of the whooping cough if the wife's maiden name is the same as her husband's. Anything [?] of them suggests to give the child cures the cough.
    A man on a grey pony if asked for the cure would give it to you. He would tell you to give a drink of something and this cures the whooping cough. Ferrets leavings are another cure. Other people believe in three drinks of asses milk given without the child knowing.
