  1. The colour of the wild duck is brown with purple feathers in her wings. She builds her nest with heather on a high bank in the bog. She lays ten eggs and she hatches four weeks on them. Then the young ones come out.
    She stays with them and teaches them to swim. The wild duck knows how to swim.
