    left to him was a white cow. He had bad luck as long as he till[ed] the fort, but when he stopped tilling it, at the end of six or seven years he good luck came back.
    It is said that it was the fairies that brought this bad luck on him because he interfered with their Dun. They preserved the white cow because a white cow is supposed to be a fairy cow. He said he would never till a fort again.
