- There dwelt in Carrowcur a blacksmith named John Moloney. He made ploughs and iron gates and the people of the district brought their horses to him to be shod. Any man that had an old plough came to John to have it overhauled and put in working-order. He made harrow-pins for harrows and he made pig-rings because pig-rings were not sold in any shop in his time. Her made scuffles and he also made cranes cranes for fire-places and grates for chimney's. He made cramp for piers of gates and frost-nails to be driven in horses' shoes in time of frost.(continues on next page)
