the cure of the mote in the eye are all only made on Thursdays and Mondays before sunset. On Good Friday of every year people always begin to set their potatoes and sow the oats. The oats seed is supposed to be sown before the 18th April any oats sown after that day is called "cuckoo oats." It is also an old tradition that whatever point the wind is from on Hallow Een it will blow from that direction for the rest of the year.
It is also said to be very unlucky to go near the water on Whitsuntide and a great many people get drowned if they do.
