    cloth was soaked in vinegar and tied as tight as possible around the forehead.
    For reamatism the bark of the ash tree was boiled in water and a glass of the water taken for nine mornings in succession.
    For sore black tea was used. The eyes were bathed in the tea. For a sty on the eye nine gooseberry thorns were pointed to it for nine mornings one after the other, saying at each thorn pointed 'In the name of the father and of the holy ghost amen.' The ninth thorn was thrown away each time. If a child had the chin cough it would go out under foal. This is sometimes done now-a-days also
