Shamrocks were worn by young and old on St. Patrick's day. It was the custom for men to go to the public house and "drown" the shamrock.
April 1st is known as "All Fools Day." People trie to fool anyone they see on that day.
"If it thunders on the first of April it will bring good crops of corn and hay."
"St. Patrick's day we'll be happy and gay,
And we'll kick the Orangemen out of our way,
If that does not do, we'll cut them in two
    The Orange men in blue."
If you're up before sunrise on Easter Sunday morning you will see the sun dancing.
