A Prayer to be said before going to bed.
As I lay down my head to sleep,
I give my soul to God to keep,
And if I die before I wake,
I give my soul to God to take,
There are four corners on my bed,
    There are four angels over-head,
St Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,
And bless the bed that I lie on,
And if any danger crosses me,
    The Blessed Virgin waken me.
(My mother told me this prayer.)
    Eileen Golden, Corderry Peyton.
