  1. (continued from previous page)
Came near the shore all the hills were lighted up and she asked her husband what were all the fires for. He told her that it was the Irish people rejoicing at his home coming. The nearer home they came the more numerous the fires were getting and she was well pleased to think that her husband was so well known and thought it off in Ireland. He then told her that he would have to entertain all those who had fires lit on that occasion and that it would be very expensive and take years to get through. She did not like to hear this and she said it would be better to turn back and proceed no further. He consented and they returned to Scotland in the next boat where they lived happily though she never had the pleasure of seeing her Lord's castle or estate.
