- Weaving was done by an old man named Walsh, not so very long ago. He lived in a thatched cottage but the side of the main road from Glenparne to Manorhamilton[?]. It is now discontinued owing to the death of the weaver.
Buttermaking was an old industry carried on in the country houses, before creameries were invented. The new milk was left to sower and then churned in a churn with a wooden churn dash. The butter was then salted in a butter dish and sold by the pound to the shopkeeper. The creamery has finished all that now.
Churns were so much used in the district, that churn making became a thriving industry.
