- In former days old crafts were commonly taken, but there are a few remains now. This is one of the commonest, which is alive still is the thing called "Dyeing. Long ago there was some kind of stuff got on the rocks which was put into a pot of water on the fire and boiled for an hour. Then the article which was to be dyed was boiled also in the pot. Then it was washed and dried and it was found to have taken a different shade. The making of ink is done in a different way now then that of long ago. Long ago this is the way it was made. There were bill berries picked in the Summer and stored away for the purpose during Winter. These berries were put into the pot of water and boiled, and the juice of these was used as ink.
