One time a girl went washing to a lake and she saw a nest of 'Dourcús.

One time a girl went washing to a lake and she saw a nest of "Dourcus" sleeping on a bush. She ran home for a shear and stuck the old Dourcu. The young ones then killed her.
Soon after this girl's brother was coming from town on a horse and they came out before him on the road.
The Dourcus struck the horse on the head and knocked him dead but the boy escaped.
The Dourcus followed all that family to Tullahan and made every effort to kill them.
