    of the house hold not requiring the bed shut it up, and in the dead hours of the night were rudely wakened by the cries of the nearby suffocated man.
    Those houses were generally lit by rush light and the old and young were experts in their manufacture. They were made of rushes that grow in the bog. These were peeled dried and dipped on tallow or grease. Dainty little stands were made for these rush lights and they were a great success.
