  1. There lived some years ago in the County Clare a little woman called Biddy Earley. She used to cure people and they came from all parts to be cured by her. Her landlord got so vexed when he saw the carriages passing by his house to Biddy's that he ordered her to burn her little black cabin.
    Next day he ordered his tenants to bring crowbars to knock Biddy's house, so Biddy walked out smiling and sat in a stone outside the cabin. She told the landlord that in a week's time she would have a better house. She said if she had power that it was from the Blessed Trinity she had it, and that she would die
