    The Wednesday before Easter Sunday is called Spy Wednesday. The Thursday before Easter Sunday is called Holy Thursday. The Friday before Easter Sunday is called Good Friday because it was on a Friday Our Lord died upon the cross.
    Every person fasts from something during Lent as a penance. A person should not get married in Lent.
    Long ago the people used to do a harder penance in Lent than the people do nowadays.
