    know anything about it. They would look out to see what fortune the bride would get. Shrove Tuesday was the day they would run away and get married unknown. These was called runaways.
    When a baby was born the people of the town would gather and have a big christening. It would last for two nights and all the friends would gather in. They would wait until Sunday to christen the baby. When the baby would get big the sponsors would buy the first dress.
