four pounds, but she thought it was a lump of iron, and she used it for keeping the kitchen door open.
One day an old travelling tinker came into this woman's house, and he noticed this lump at the door. Then he took out his knife and scraped it, and dropped it down at the door again. When he was leaving he offered the woman five shillings for the lump of iron, but she said it was at the door since the house was built and would stay there, as it brought luck to the house.
When the tinker went away, she told some one what he did. It was then found out that it was a lump of gold.
