  1. Nearly every house in this district has a churn for its own use and it is unusual for a person to borrow his neighbour's churn.
    Nearly all the churns are round and similar in size and shape.
    Our churn stands three feet and six inches high and the circumference of the top is five feet. It gets narrow towards the centre where it is only four feet and a half but them it gets broader until at the bottom it is five and a half feet in circumference.
    It is made of oak and is about seven years old and was brought in Derry.
