  1. (1) Mr Burgcoyne - lived at the Cross Roads about 1/4 mile N.E. of the school in the townland of Carrowreagh. He left in his will some money for the poor children of the district about 220£.
    There is a very funny story told about him. -
    He kept a horse of which he was very fond, and the people say that he dressed himself up in his shroud and went up to the horse in its stable & scared it very badly.
    He had his coffin made also and in the house.
