  1. Mr. Alexander sows five acres every year, The amout varied one year. The ground is ploughed by the ploughman. The men always manure it when it is turned up. They so them in drills.     When the potatoes are ready for digging they gathe eight men to gather the potatoes. Then they put them into pits for some time. He always sows arneaks, (arrochy) Arran chiefs, Suttons, Redskins and Pilots every year. Then he sells them.
