  1. Thatching is carried on in my district yet. Some soap is made in Hughes in Derry. In olden times there was a foundry at Alescanders in Imilick for making spades, gates, harrows, ploughs and fire cranes. There was rope making in Derry. The people call it the Rope walk. Long ago there was a place at Bridgend for tanning of leather.
