Two men were hunting for hares.
They could get none. They saw one, but the dogs could not catch her.
Just then they saw a little boy and they asked him if he could get them a hare, they would give him a shilling.
He said he would. So he went in to the house and told his Granie who was a witch to sit at a certain bush in the shape of a hare.
The boy came out and took the men to the bush. He kit the bush and the "hare" ran out.
The men sent the white dog after her, but she beat him. Then they sent the black one after her. He was going very fast and he was very near the hare. So the boy let the cat out of the bag, and called run hard granie or the black dog will catch you.
