The Saldanah was a a British ship. It was sailing on the waters of Lough Swilly when it struck a rock and the ship tumbled and the men were drowned. The captain was found and was buried in Rathmullan graveyard. A high iron railing was put round the grave which is still to be seen.

There are two cannons off the boat down at Barton's Hotel in Portsalon and the wood of the mast is on a garage roof n Ramelton which belongs to Mr. Davidson
