Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Carraig-na-Rois is about a mile from Brownknowe National School and two miles from Ramelton. It lies along the shore between Ramelton and Rathmullen. The old people of that district tell us the story of how it got its name. It is a large, stone rock on the edge of the shore. Down below it there is a stream which flows into Lough Swilly, Co. Donegal.
    Long ago, the old people of this district tell us, that underneath this large rock there was a well of water and the people of the district used to carry their water from this well. It happened one day that a young girl named Rose, went to the rock with a pail in each hand to bring home two pails of water, but, as she stooped to lift the water she disappeared leaving her pails at the well, and from that day onwards she was never seen again. It is said she was taken away by the fairies who lived in these rocks and she was never seen again. Her name was then
