(5) A man who rubs a sprain will tie a cord around it.
(6) A rub three times with spring water for three nights cures a sprain.
Stye - (1) Point a gooseberry point at the stye every morning for two or three mornings.
(2) The cure for stye is washing the stye with black tea. Another is jagging it nine times with nine gooseberry jags and throwing the tenth away.
Boils - (1) A bottle is heated and the boils are drawn with the bottle.
(2) A plaster of sugar and soap is put on the boil.
(3) Orange Lily roots is the cure for boils.
(4) (a) Buttermilk and oat meal boiled.
(b) Linseed meal and water make a good poultice for boils.
(5) A bit of fat bacon is put on top of the boil to cure it.
Toothache - (1) Toothache is cured by "Doon Well" water. Doon Well is a holy well near Kilmacrennan(continues on next page)
