St. Brigid's Cross is made of rushes. The crosses are made by the people of the house on St. Brigid's Eve and placed above the door. People decorate the house at Christmas was holly. On Palm Sunday palms are taken to the church and blessed at Mass. They are hung in the out-houses. Palms, holy water, Doon Well water, Tory clay and Gartan clay are all placed in the out-houses to bring good luck on the sick.
