  1. One day Mrs Mulholland put on her wedding-coat to go to town. Mr Ray happened to see her coming home. He said to a man standing by that, if her husband could afford to buy a seal-skin coat for his wife he could pay a few pounds extra in rent. The following year he added two pounds to the rent.
    If any man had a good crop of corn or potatoes he had to pay more rent the following year.
