It is two feet high. It is made four years. Mostly everyone churns once a week. If a stranger goes into a house where the people are churning he says "Good luck to your work". It takes about an hour to churn. The staff is worked up and down when people are churning. The butter is lifted off the churn with butter patties. The buttermilk is used for baking bread. When there are lumps of butter on top of the churning it is done. Dash churns are the longest in use. Some churns are made of oak and(continues on next page)
