  2. I never knew of any fairs being held or where in this part of Donegal except in the towns. Fairs are always held in towns and villages but often buyers go from house to house in the country buying beasts, but this is a custom that should be stopped because it destroys the fairs. Often good buyers will not come because rumours are put out that all the good beasts are bought up and it is often true, and then the local buyers have the fairs to themselves. Cattle when bought are marked with a scissors cut. The cattle then are put in
