  1. There are not very many old people around this district, and therefore I cannot gather many stories about the leprechaun.
    One Summer's evening as my mother was going for a bucket of water, about eight o'clock, and on her journey near the well, she saw this little man with a green jacket, and a red cap.
    And not knowing what it was, she ran away, and when she returned he had disappeared.
