    10. Not so happy in the floor line. Where the old clay floors remain they are very uneven and not nearly so good as clay floors found in out offices in Donegal.
    11. Sides of roof very steep and much longer than thatched roofs usually are.
    12. Seldom do we find a window on back wall of house. Three small windows in front.
    13. Walls from 25 ins to 30 ins in thickness.
    14. Where many clay buildings are to be found you may be certain to find "lanes" from which the clay was produced.
    15. Houses very warm but airy and no draughts.
    16. The top of the chimney wall was seldom more than from 12 to 19 ins higher than level of straw.
    17. Some of the Donegal style of thatch house- the two gables and straight roof.
