“About 20 years ago Pat Walsh and his brother Peter, and another boy called Tom Gallagher were joined in making poteen.”
(continued from previous page)and he nearly killed them for flinging the sod and they said they didn't fling it.
About three o'clock they were getting hungry so Pat struck for home for tea.
He knew the way well and he couldn't get on the path that he used to go on every day. He could hear the sods coming in the air and hitting him. He got it hard to get home, but he got it awful hard to get down with the tea.
They had no return on that round of poteen because they didn't throw any of it to the faries, and the faries were flinging sods at them.- Collector
