shot to a loft at the end of the house. There was a window near the loft of the gable he meant to defend his home from from the loft. When night fell the gang returned and finding the door closed they began to break in the door as all the arms were in the bag. The man of the house succeeded in driving them away, but six bodies were found in the street in the morning.
