  1. There was an old man long ago. One day he went to the bog saving turf.
It happened that it was a market day, and there was no one in the bog but himself.
When it was near dinner time he sat down and had a rest.
He was not long there until he saw a small man drawing near him. He kept his eye on him and the small man kept laughing.
He was about two feet in height, and he wore a red coat with bright buttons in it.
The man watched him all the time, until he came near him, he them caught him and to his great surprise it was a Leipreachane with a pot of gold.
The old man who was then poor was a rich man after that.
