  1. My home district is in the town-land of Rosbeg, in the parish of Westport, and Barony of Murrisk. There are about twenty-six families living in Rosbeg. The houses are mostly slated but there are a few old thatched houses. There are no old people living in Rosbeg now. In olden times there were more people in the townland, but through hard times the people had to emigrate to England and America. The townland is not mentioned in any song or saying. The land is hilly and is good for pasture. There are a few small woods growing in Rosbeg. There are two small rivers but there are no lakes.
