  1. Michael Delaney of Island made a song called the "Island Farm". This song was composed about thirty years ago when there was an agitation to have the lands of Island divided among the tenants of the district, The following are the words of the song.
    Island Farm
    This lovely spot close to my cot with sadness now I view
    It's known all round Ballyhaunis town and Bangor Err/? too.
    'Twas grabbed of late I have to state by a man from North Mayo.
    Whose name you'll see on history where you may go
