- Butter is made on every farm in the district. In winter the milk is usually scarce and the churning is done only once a week or sometimes once a fortnight. In summer the milk is plenty and butter is made twice a week. Of late years the old dash churns have been discarded by most people and the barrel churn is common in the homes now-a-days. The people say however that they used to get more butter off the milk when the old type of churn was used.
