  1. In the penal days there were no churches because the soldiers used to knock them down and break every blessed thing that was in them. But instead of that there used to be holes made in the ditches and then the people would gather and the priest would read mass there.

  2. The priests in the penal days used to be very much afraid of the soldiers. And then so as to save themselves they used to hide among the rocks. Sometimes they used to hide in caves.
    They used to read masses where ever they would get the chance.
