  1. In the old days, nobody used to get married in advent or lent. If they were to get married between advent and lent. There was match making too. Supposed there was a man to get married then his father and mother would go and ask such a girl that they though suitable. They would bring a friend or neighbour with them and they would introduce it to the father and mother. They would tell this friend or neighbour to tell them to meet on a certain day and they met on the day appointed and both parties were pleased and then they appointed a day to get married.
