    The Cuckoo, goes to Africa. The Corncrake, also to Africa. The Swallows go to Abyssinia. It is said the Wag-tails migrate in the summer.
    Signs It is said that the Swallows fly high, that it is the sign of good weather, and when they fly low it is the sign of rain,
    When the Corncrake is continually singing it is the sign of wet weather.
    When the Crow is late going to its rook it is the sign of rain.
    When the wild geese, comes to the lakes it is the sign of storm.
    When the swans change to another place in the lake, the wind is going to change.
    When the Wag-tails is on the house top, it is the sign of good weather.
    When the Snipe is heard high in the sky in the evening, it is the sign of good weather.
    When the Partridge is calling in the evening, it is generally going to be rain.
    When the Cuckoo sings on a bare torn sell your cow, and buy corn.
    When the Cuckoo, Corncrake and swallow comes early it is the sign of a good season.
