    parish Church were situated. One day Mr Lowther of Moyclare near Ferbane came to evict a man ironically called "Flesh" Coughlan because he was so thin. This Coughlan lived near Belmont Offaly. Canon Sheridan was at the eviction. When the bailiffs and police had "Flesh" evicted, the fire quenched and the door of the house closed, Canon Sheridan said to a man named Frank Claffey of Cloonbronive (?) (a nephew of Mrs Claffey) "Go in Frank and bring me out my stick." Frank obeyed and as soon as he opened the door, the fire blazed up the chimney. Mr Lowther saw he was beaten and he said "We will have another day for this." "You will never stand here again" said Canon Sheridan, and as Mrs Claffey said "no more he did not". She also said Mr Lowther's Ghost attacked the Canon one night as he was driving near Moyclare. Canon Sheridan go sick and died soon after.

    A man named Martin Daly lived in Logg, a village on the south side of the hill of Cloghan. Martin Daly died about 25 years ago. He was about 80 years of age when he died.
    Logg was part of the estate of Mr. Potts. who lived at Correen Castle Clonfad Bal'sloe (M)
    The agent for estate was Mr Lowther.
