    People had not to go to any town for food because they produced it in there own village.
    Money was not nor is not always given for goods, other goods were given to the shopkeeper such as eggs and butter for other axticles?
    People got and get good on tick which means getting things and not paying for them at the same time.
    If people for instance were swoping asses or horses and if one was better than the other. The man that owned the best one got what was called boot? with him.
    People say it is unlucky to buy a sweeping brush in May because you would sweep the family away
