   When the faggots were ready to be set on fire, and the men who had brought them there gone away, a few men came and put plenty of water on them, so on that night when they were set on fire instead of illuminating the place, it covered the people with smoke, and they had to run for their lives, in case of being smothered.
   That put an end to that night's dance, and every other nights dance at the crossroads.
