- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)because many lime kilns are at the bottom of it. It is still in use. When the slob was reclaimed this road was made. The lime was got in these lime kilns and brought to the cement works in Drinagh.
From Piercestown School a lane lead through the land to Devereux's of Ballyfinogue, a distance of a mile or so. Many of the school children go home this way from school. They have to cross a river about four feet wide. Stepping stones are in it as a means of getting across it.
