    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Within the yard of Rathmacnee castle a crock of gold is said to be hidden.
    No one knows where the exact spot is.
    Many stories connected with it are circulated in the district. Only one of them contains a statement about an attempt to unearth it.
    The story says that in Tagmon a man from Rathmacnee met a New Ross man.
    After talking for some time the man from New Ross inquired what sort of a place Rathmacnee was.
    On being told of the castle, Mill, and church he said, "For three nights in succession I dreamt of that place, and of a vast treasure hidden in the castle yard.". "Let us go and dig for it".
    That night armed with shovels and a lantern they crept into the castle yard and commenced to dig. On digging down to four feet they came to a large flagstone, under which the treasure was hidden.
    The story says that as they were lifting it they head a great noise.
