Tyrrell Pass, Co Westmeath. The potatoes are grown on drills. First a man gets two horses and a single plough and ploughs the ground after that he harrows it and then he spring harrows it. Then the dirt is picked of the ground.
Next he opens the drills and the manure is put out. Next the potatoes is dropped then the manure is spread on top of the potatoes drills.
Next the drills are closed. The potatoes are left for a few weeks.
Soon after the dirt begins to come up again. Then the are grubbed and mounded
A plough is used for that kind of work.
